WHAT IS REIKI?
The word “Reiki” comes from the Japanese words “Rei” (universal) and “Ki” (life energy). Reiki is a type of energy healing. The person giving Reiki channels the energy through her body and out through her hands.
Reiki is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and that is what makes us to be alive. If one "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stressed, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
Usui Reiki is a complementary therapy that treats the person as a whole: mind, body and soul. It can be used to support people undergoing treatment for all sorts of conditions or it can be used alone but is not a replacement for traditional medication or treatment.
Reiki aims to help the flow of energy and remove blocks. Improving the flow of energy around the body, enable relaxation, reduce pain, speed healing, and reduce other symptoms of illness.
Reiki is never harmful and if safe for adults, children, babies, mothers-to-be and animals.
YOUR REIKI TREATMENT
Each Reiki healing session lasts approximately one hour, and is a hands on or hands above treatment with you remaining fully clothed. Your treatment will consist of varying numbers of hand positions, where I will flow healing energy, starting at the head and ending at the feet.
You could feel anything from intense heat, tingling and lightness to a sense of deep peace and well being. The sensations people have felt differ.
If you are unable to travel to have your Reiki session, distance healing is as powerful as being in person.
